Referencing motifs common to classical painting, Four Seasons depict an FPV drone flying through artists’ studio over the course of a year, from winter to autumn. Structured as a quadriptych, the work reflects on the process of habituation and the normalization of wartime technologies within everyday life. The artists draw a parallel between the drone and a fly: both become omnipresent, intrusive, and ultimately almost unnoticed. What was once perceived as an exceptional or threatening presence gradually dissolves into the background of daily existence. (Text by Ksenia Malykh)
